Rivian Expands Fleet Sales: Electric Vans Now Available for All Business

FEBRUARY 10th, 2025

Rivian Opens Up Commercial EV Van Sales to All Fleets

Big news for businesses looking to go electric—Rivian is officially opening up its commercial van sales to fleets of all sizes! If you’ve been eyeing those sleek Rivian delivery vans on the road, now might be the perfect time to bring them into your own fleet. However, Rivian has also confirmed that, at this time, they will not be selling the Rivian Commercial Van (RCV) for personal use.

From Amazon Exclusive to Open Market:

For a while, Rivian’s electric delivery vans (EDVs) were exclusive to Amazon, thanks to a partnership that saw the online retail giant order 100,000 of them. That deal helped Rivian scale production, but as of late 2023, the exclusivity agreement has ended. Now, Rivian is making its vans available to any business, large or small, that wants to electrify its fleet.

What This Means for Businesses

This shift is huge for companies looking for sustainable and cost-efficient fleet options. Rivian’s electric vans are designed for urban deliveries, offering lower operating costs compared to gas-powered alternatives. The vans also feature cutting-edge tech, long-range battery capabilities, and Rivian’s advanced safety features, making them an appealing choice for businesses that prioritize efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Fleet Sales Get Their Own Spot on Rivian’s Website

To make it even easier for businesses to explore fleet options, Rivian has added a new “Fleet” section to its website’s main navigation bar. This section provides details on Rivian’s commercial EV offerings, financing options, and how businesses can transition to an electric fleet.

Still Committed to Amazon, But Expanding

Even though Amazon is no longer Rivian’s exclusive commercial van customer, Rivian is still on track to deliver the full 100,000 vans Amazon originally ordered by 2030. In the meantime, Rivian is working with other major companies—AT&T was reportedly one of the first non-Amazon fleets to test the vans—and they’re now opening the doors for everyone else.

What’s Next?

With Rivian also planning to launch its R2 SUVs in 2026, the company is clearly looking at new ways to expand its market and grow its business. Opening up fleet sales could be a great way to keep production moving while they prepare for future consumer-focused releases.

This is an exciting time for Rivian and for businesses looking to electrify their fleets. What do you think about this move? Would you like to see Rivian vans on the road for more than just deliveries? Let’s discuss!
